When Billy, a young rescued tom cat, was brought to CGS Hospital with loss of appetite, severe straining and difficulty passing stools, his condition required immediate attention. A detailed clinical evaluation confirmed a rectal prolapse, a complex condition needing timely surgical intervention.
Given the nature of the case, our surgical team planned a corrective procedure using an abdominal approach. A colpopexy was performed to effectively manage the prolapse and reduce the chances of recurrence.
Billy was placed under intensive postoperative care with targeted therapy and continuous monitoring to support safe healing. Gradually, his appetite returned, bowel movements normalised and overall comfort improved. Today, Billy is active, playful and clinically stable.
His recovery reflects the importance of early diagnosis, advanced surgical planning and dedicated post operative care in managing high risk cases.
At CGS Hospital, we remain committed to delivering precise treatment and compassionate care at every stage of healing.
